Dear fellow Hanoverians:
Hanover’s Annual Town Meeting was dissolved this evening (Monday as I write
this), but not before we agreed to petition the General Court for 13
additional liquor licenses for Hanover Crossing, and discussed the
possibility of reconsidering our approval of Article 36 regarding the
Sylvester School.
The Sylvester School article discussion dominated the evening, but
ultimately, the two-thirds majority needed to reconsider our actions from
last Monday was not achieved. In the meantime, the Selectmen have voted to
cancel the current RFP that was responded to by Hanover’s own Dave
Traggorth and the Traggorth Companies. Town Meeting’s actions from last
week under Article 35 and 36 stand, include the decision to sell or
otherwise dispose of the Sylvester School, and are described in more detail
here:

.
Thank you to the good people of Hanover for the lively and engaging debate
of these issues! Your participation is appreciated! Particular thanks to
the Advisory Committee for their consideration of these issues and their
related recommendations on Town Meeting floor. The hundreds of hours they
spend behind the scenes in preparation for Town Meeting are without
comparison.
See you next year! Mark your calendar now for the first Monday in May –
May 4, 2020!
