Red Sox – Yankees tickets winner make generous donation to the Hanover Habitat for Humanity House

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

I hope you enjoyed today’s weather as much as I did!
One of Hanover’s own, the very special Joan Norris, will be enjoying tomorrow’s
repeat weather day along with three family members or  friends, at the Red
Sox vs. the Yankees game at Fenway!

Joan was the winning bidder in the first ever “Around
Town on the Web” auction to benefit the Hanover Habitat for Humanity
house.  As you have read, “a friend” of “ATOTW”
donated four prime box seats to Sunday night’s game against the
arch-rival Yankees, with the stipulation that all proceeds benefit the Habitat
for Humanity house being built on the corner of Walnut and Main in
Hanover.  As Joan said to me in one of her e-mail bids, “I have been
meaning to write a check to Habitat, so this is my opportunity”!
What a win-win situation.  All $550 of Joan’s winning bid will be
donated directly to the Habitat for Humanity.  It’s a very generous
check, at that, Joan.  J

Special thanks to my “ATOTW friend” who so kindly
donated the seats in the first place.  Although he wishes to remain publicly
nameless, those of you who can guess who he is will know that he is a true gem
of Hanover.  I will add that he said that it is his hope that his gesture
will generate other such auction donation ideas.  I will look forward to
being a cog in the wheel…
