Annual Outdoor Mass: 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Franciscan Fraternities
St. Mary of the Portiuncula and Mary Queen of Peace Secular Franciscan
Fraternities extend an invitation to share an afternoon of Prayer and
Devotions, followed by the Annual Outdoor Mass at the Portiuncula Chapel to
celebrate The Feast of Our Lady of the Angels. On that day, the Faithful
will be provided with the opportunity to complete the Indulgence conditions
for this special Feast by visiting the Portiuncula Chapel and praying with
us. A description of the Devotions, the times, and the Conditions for
Indulgences are listed below.
All are most welcome to come, to stay as long as you can, and, especially,
to share in the blessings of this day. Please share this invitation with
family and friends.
Portiuncula Chapel Devotions: Cardinal Cushing Centers, Route 53, Hanover
3:00 p.m. – Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and Chaplet of Divine Mercy
3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. – Sacrament of Reconciliation, on Chapel grounds and
Rosary
5:35 p.m. – Reposition of the Blessed Sacrament/ Benediction
Annual Outdoor Mass to Honor Our Lady of the Angels:
6:30 p.m. – in the Chapel parking lot. If inclement weather, the Mass will
be moved to St. Mary’s Church, Route 139, Hanover.
Conditions for receiving Plenary Indulgences:
A Plenary Indulgence may be granted to those who are truly contrite and
moved by the spirit of charity and wish to seek this Indulgence are to make
a profession of faith (Apostle’s Creed) and observe the usual conditions:
*Sacramentally confess their sins in the Sacrament of Reconciliation;
*Participate in the celebration of and receive the Holy Eucharist at Mass;
*Recite at least 6 Our Fathers, Hail Mary’s, and Glory Be’s for the
intentions of the Holy Father, the Pope.
(While these 3 Conditions may be fulfilled 5 days before or after the
completion of the indulgenced work, it is fitting that Communion be
received, the Prayers for the intentions of the Holy Father, and the
Profession of Faith (Apostle’s Creed) be said on the same day.)
