Dear fellow Hanoverians:
Hanover’s registered voters turned out in droves again this year for our
Special Town Meeting and the first night of our Annual Town Meeting. Over
700 people filled the auditorium and the gymnasium at Hanover High School,
which didn’t meet or beat our turnout of over 1000 last year but certainly
was a solid showing by any other standard for a Town Meeting.
Despite attempts to amend our budgets, both the “base budget” and “override
budget” passed as printed in the warrant, found here:

. We proudly hailed our town’s veterans, both those in the audience as
well as those who served us decades ago as we named a traffic island for
the Hanover Gardner brothers of WWII and increased two different veterans’
exemptions. We also cleaned up some necessary changes in our General
Bylaws as they related to an obsolete zoning area’s signs and the
Conservation Committee.
And, we made it through the whole Special Town Meeting, and 27 articles of
the Annual Town Meeting. We will reconvene at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May
6th, 2025 at Hanover High School.
