Dear fellow Hanoverians:
Walnut Hill Garden Club Launches Spring and Summer Season with Community
Plant Sale
Money raised helps fund town wide beautification projects
The Walnut Hill Garden Club (WHGC) of Hanover is thrilled to announce their
upcoming plant sale to help raise funds for community beautification
projects. The sale will take place on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Riley
Hall, 17 Silver Street in Hanover beginning at 9:00 a.m. The plant sale
consists of flowers lovingly grown from the WHGC membership. Plants
available for sale include hostas, lilies, roses and many more annual and
perennial plants. Additionally, you can shop for well-loved and gently used
garden supplies directly from our members in our garden treasure tent sale.
You’ll find pots and garden tools as well as other items for the garden.
“Our biennial plant sale is a wonderful opportunity for the community to
fortify their personal gardens with plants lovingly grown from our
members”, said WHGC President Audrey Barresi. “And the money raised
funds our town wide beautification projects including maintaining over 20
traffic islands here in Hanover, as well as planting at the Stetson House
and the rain garden located at Riley Hall”, said Barresi.
The Walnut Hill Garden Club has been promoting the beautification of our
hometown of Hanover since 1967, and in addition to traffic island
maintenance, the WHGC provides garden therapy and seasonal floral design
workshops for senior citizens and veterans, support for Hanover High
School’s Dirty Work Garden Club as well as kindergarten planting
programs, and presents scholarships annually for graduating high school
students. You can learn more about getting involved with the club at the
plant sales — green thumbs and novices alike are all invited to join!
