Dear fellow Hanoverians:
The Town of Hanover Community Preservation Committee will hold its annual
public hearing on
Wednesday January 13, 2010 at 7:00 p.m.
in the First Floor Hearing Room at Town Hall.
The purpose of this meeting will be to present the Committee’s progress to
date and to involve and gather ideas from the public on the needs,
possibilities and resources for Community Preservation in Hanover. Pursuant
to M.G.L. Chapter 44B, the CPC is charged with studying the needs,
possibilities and resources of the Town regarding community preservation, in
consultation with other municipal boards and departments. Based on public
hearings and Town studies, the CPC will make recommendations to Town Meeting
for the acquisition, creation and preservation of open space; for the
acquisition, preservation, rehabilitation and restoration of historic
resources; for the acquisition, creation and preservation of land for
recreational use; for the creation, preservation and support of community
housing; and for the rehabilitation or restoration of open space, land for
recreational use and community housing that is acquired or created as
provided for in M.G.L. Chapter 44B. All residents, members of the general
public, and any person(s) desiring to listen to the discussions or be heard
on the matter of Community Preservation are invited to attend.
