The Hanover Cultural Council is holding its 3rd Annual Hanover Day Juried
Art Exhibit at the Frame Center in Hanover from June 18 through July 21!

Cash Prizes will be awarded in several categories: Drawing, Watercolor,
Mixed Media, Painting, Photography and 3D.

Please submit your artwork to be displayed at the Frame Center, 152
Rockland Street, Hanover. Drop off DATES: Friday, June 8, 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.
and Saturday, June 9, 10:00 a.m. – noon.

Exhibit DATES: June 18 – July 21

Artists’ AWARDS Reception: Thursday, June 21, 2018, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

You do not need to be a resident of Hanover to submit artwork; they are
looking forward to seeing the work of our talented local artists!! For

The Walnut Hill Garden Club of Hanover invites interested members of the
public to a plant sale and garden-related yard sale to take place on
Saturday, May 19th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Riley Hall in Hanover.
Native and other desired perennials, shrubs, trees, succulent gardens and
much more will be on sale at great prices, along with various garden
related items at their yard sale. Come early for the best selection. Doors
open promptly at 9:00 a.m.!

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

Join the Hanover Open Space Committee and the Cardinal Cushing Center staff
for a two mile tour of the stunning 100 acre Cardinal Cushing property on
Sunday, May 20 at 1:00 p.m. They will walk to the Third Herring Brook, now
free-flowing after the recent dam removal, and along the adjacent woodland
trails. Park in the main lot opposite the Cushing Chapel on Rte. 53.
Sturdy walking shoes and insect/tick repellent are recommended. For more

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

The results of the 2018 Annual Town Election are now in. Please see the
attached unofficial results. Brian Barthelmes has indicated to me
personally that he does not intend to seek a recount.

Congratulations to all of the candidates – win or lose – for participating
in our political process. It’s not easy to run for elected office! ;)

Thanks also to all who came out to vote. Clearly, as this election shows,
every vote counts. Further, the consistent low turnout in our local
election over the past several years has already generated some discussion
about the timing of the election, which I am sure we will continue to
explore in the future.

First Congregational Church of Hanover will host a free Preview Night on
May 18, 2018 for its August Vacation Bible School. Just like at their
August 14, 15 and 16 Vacation Bible School, they’ll start with
“Breakfast for Dinner”. After that, you will meet the leader and hear
about “desert island camp” and how Jesus can “rescue” us. As part of
the Preview, you will be making crafts and doing activities, and then all
participants will come together for the closing ceremony and dance to
inspiring VBS music. The Preview will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
on Friday May 18. To register for the Preview, please go to

As you prepare to go to the polls on Saturday, please know that campaign
finance reports for the campaign period up to the 8th day preceding the
election (last Friday) are now available for your review on the Town
Clerk’s section of the Town’s website. They are an interesting source of
information that will help you to make some informed decisions on Saturday;
check them out!

Join The Hanover Historical Society to create a one-of-a-kind painting
(they make it so easy!) and enjoy a unique night out. No painting
experience needed, as you will be guided, step by step throughout the
class. Canvases, paint brushes, paints and easels are provided for your
use, and you will leave with your very own masterpiece!

On Wednesday, May 23rd from 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., join local artist Kelly
Burke as she guides you through creating your own images of the Stetson
House. Seating is limited. Cost is $35 per person for members, $40
non-members. To purchase tickets, please call Hanover Historical Society
