through Thursday at the Hanover High School Library. Volunteers sit at the
HHS Library desk on the 2nd floor and make sure the library remains a

Newcomers seek babysitters

Dear fellow Hanoverians:
The Hanover Newcomers Club is looking for babysitters!

The Hanover Newcomers Club is a social group for women that live in
Hanover. Each year for the past few years they have reached out to the
potential babysitters from the community and invited them to sign up for
their babysitters list.

If you are interested in joining their list of babysitters or have
questions, please contact Colleen Carlson at ckeenan2217@hotmail.com or
Elisabeth Coogan at elisabethcoogan@yahoo.com , and they will send a
questionnaire to you.

Younger babysitters typically will supply their contact information through
a parent; if you choose to use a parent’s contact information please note
that on the email.

All babysitting members of the community are encouraged to submit a
questionnaire; however, the greatest need is for babysitters who can
provide their own transportation.

You can also find the questionnaire on their website at
http://hanovernewcomersclub.com/community-resources/community-links/ .

Historical Society Executive Director bids adieu

Dear fellow Hanoverians:
Below please find a letter written by Rachel Lovett, Hanover Historical
Society’s Executive Director. It is printed here in its entirety, as
there is much to share!

“Over the last two and a half years I formed many friendships here and in
Hanover with some great memories, so it is with some sadness that I tell
you I have accepted a position with a wonderful museum in Annapolis,
Maryland. I will be leaving at the end of the month to start this new
chapter of my life. I want to thank each one of you for making my time at
the Hanover Historical Society memorable and I will always look back with
fondness at my time here.

The Society has changed a lot in the last couple of years. We now have a
strategic plan, new exhibits, and several public programs which attract
diverse audiences. I know that the Society is on a good path for the
future, and I am confident it will be successful in the coming years
promoting and preserving Hanover’s history.

The Society has named Aaron Dougherty as the new part time Interim
Executive Director. Aaron is originally from Michigan but has been living
in New England since 2010 when he moved to Plymouth and accepted a job at
Plymouth Plantation as an interpreter. Aaron has worked in different
capacities at Pilgrim Hall Museum, Boston Historical National Park, and
most recently at the 1699 Historic Winslow House Museum and Cultural Center
in Marshfield where he is their part time interim Executive Director. Aaro
