Ski and snowboard lessons

Dear fellow Hanoverians:
Once again this winter Hanover Parks and Recreation will be offering
ski and snowboard lessons at Blue Hills! Children can choose to bring
or rent equipment. /Helmets are not required, however they are
*STRONGLY* encouraged/. Classes will take place for 5 Tuesdays
starting January 7th. We will be sharing a bus and traveling with
Randolph and Rockland again this year! Every participant will be given
a Blue Hills Pass to be worn during lessons, which is their pass to
ski or snowboard. All participants will wear a Hanover Park & Rec vest
to clearly define them as part of our group*.*
*Ages:* 7-15
*When:* Tuesdays 1/7, 1/14, 1/21, 1/28 & 2/4 (additional weeks will be
added on if there are weather closings)
*Time:* Bus leaves Rec Center at 3 pm sharp, returning around
6:45/7:00 pm depending on traffic
*Cost:* $250 for ski/snowboard lesson; $325 for ski/snowboard lesson
with rental; $30 for helmet rental (strongly encouraged)

Memory and hearing speaker

Dear fellow Hanoverians:
The Hanover Woman’s Club, Jrs. invites the public to join them for
their December meeting on Wed. December 4th at 7 pm. The featured
speaker for the night will be Deborah Dempesy, an audiologist from
Dempesy Audiology/All Ears Hearing in Plymouth. She is well respected
in her field.
Dr. Dempesy will speak on memory and hearing. If you feel that you, a
loved one or a friend could benefit from her knowledge, or if you are
interested in the subject, please join the members of the Woman’s Club
for a most informative meeting. Have your questions ready as she has a
wonderful way of answering questions with understandable explanations.
The Hanover Woman’s Club, Jrs. meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month
during September to June and is currently recruiting new members.
Locale and programs for the meetings are printed in the club yearbook.
It is a working and social group where members enjoy the camaraderie
of other members as well as the projects they do for the community.

Free Zumba on Thanksgiving

calorie-burning Zumba class taught by Jennifer Lloyd? Jen’s free class

Storyteller at John Curtis Library

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

Award-winning storyteller Mark Binder will appear at the library on
Saturday, November 16 at 3:00 p.m. to present “Cinderella
Spinderella and other Autumn Tales”. The title story is a modern,
multicultural reworking of the Cinderella story. Mark is well known as
a storyteller who brings a wide variety of content and style and
adapts his performance perfectly to his audience.

The program is for families with children of all ages and is funded by
the Friends of the John Curtis Library. Free tickets are available at
the children’s room desk. For more information please call

Newcomers Annual Gift Show returns!

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

The Hanover Newcomers Club is holding their 17th Annual Holiday Gift
Show on Sunday, November 17th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The show
will be held at the Hanover High School, located at 287 Cedar Street.
The show will highlight over 90 vendors displaying their unique
jewelry, chic home decor including personalized items, bags and hair
accessories, seasonal ornaments, wreaths and swags and great stocking
stuffers for all ages.

There will also be several Girl Scout Troops selling refreshments and
food items for their fundraising needs. Admission is $2.00/$1.00 for
seniors. The proceeds from this event help support Hanover Newcomers
Club’s community service efforts and scholarships. Get a jump start
on your holiday shopping!

Re-opening of the Stetson House Museum

Dear fellow Hanoverians:
The following information made my day when I read it. The Hanover
Historical Society is continuing its renaissance here in town and so
many people are to be congratulated for this announcement!
Join the Hanover Historical Society on Saturday, November 9th as they
reopen the Stetson House Museum. The museum will include a
chronological tour of Hanover history as guests travel through each
room. The tour will have hands-on activities, music, and pictures
shown on the museum’s new hand held computers. The museum will also
have a new room dedicated for researchers that will contain the
archives.

The museum will be open the first three Saturdays of the month from
2-4 p.m. Please join the HHS for this special opening. Light
refreshments served, free, donations appreciated. For more

Holiday Carolers for hire!

Make plans now for Hanover High School’s 8th Annual Holiday Caroling
Fundraiser!!

Are you having a holiday work party or a personal party and need some
entertainment?

Do you need an idea for a gift?

Are you a member of a club that would like some entertainment at your
December meeting?

Looking to spread some holiday cheer to a friend or family member, or
to folks in your neighborhood?

WHAT: Hanover High School Choral Department is hosting its 8th Annual
Caroling Fundraiser again this year with short (15 minutes) doorstop
visits for $30, or indoor holiday party visits (30-45 minutes) are
$75.
WHEN: Fridays and Saturdays
Fridays: December 6, 13, 20
Saturdays: December 7, 14, 21
/Note: these dates and times are mainly for doorstop visits; party and
nursing home visits may be arranged on alternate dates and times
pending availability./
HOW TO BOOK A CAROLING: There are two ways to hire carolers:
1. (Preferred method) Go to www.hanoverchoirs.weebly.com

and click on the link to the Caroling Fundraiser, then fill out the
attached form. You will receive a confirmation for your date/time.
