Just a brief shower and the Hanover Day schedule!

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

Today’s good news from the volunteers running Hanover Day is: “we are
hopeful that any rain showers will be brief, and the show must go on, rain
or shine!” And, “Looks like today is good. Chance of rain tomorrow during
the day but looking ok for the evening. Onward!”

Thought I would also follow up with one last listing of the schedule for
today and tomorrow, as attached. Check it out, pack a jacket, and see you
there!

Children’s Summer Reading Kick-Off at John Curtis Free Library

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

The Children’s Summer Reading Program will officially start on Thursday,
July 6 at 11:00 a.m. with a performance by award-winning storyteller Davis
Bates, and registration is open now.

Entitled “Raising Our Voices”, the program will include songs and
stories about empowerment and the imagination from a variety of cultural
traditions. Hear about a brave parrot and how coyote got his howl, among
other stories, and be prepared to sing, move and clap your hands. The
program will include plenty of sing-alongs, as well as a short lesson in
how to play the spoons, and an appearance by an Irish dancing wooden dog
named Bingo.

After the performance, children who wish to participate in the summer
reading program will be given reading logs to record their reading time and
earn rewards throughout the summer.

Please register to attend the performance at the Calendar of Events section
of the library’s website, johncurtislibrary.com. This program is supported
in part by a grant from the Hanover Cultural Council, a local agency, which
is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency. For
more information, please call 781-826-2972, extension 4, or email
lcampbell@ocln.org.
