St. Mary of the Portiuncula and Mary Queen of Peace Secular Franciscan
Fraternities extend an invitation to share an hour of Prayer at the
Portiuncula Chapel, Tuesday, June 13, 2023, 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., to
celebrate the Second Apparition of Our Lady of Fatima. Hear a talk by
Deacon Jim (Our Lady of the Angels Parish, Hanover) on the Second
Apparition followed by a Rosary Procession on the grounds of the
Portiuncula Chapel (weather permitting).

Come together to offer thanks and praise to Our Lady, “Queen of the
Angels;” bring a message of hope and peace to those in need of the Lord’s
mercy through this special devotion. As Our Lady promised us at Fatima,
“I will never forsake you, I will not abandon you. My Immaculate Heart
will always be your refuge, your consolation, and the way that will lead
you to God.”

Prayer intentions for June are for Family Unity, for the Missions of the
World, and for the personal needs and intentions of all in attendance.

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

This year marks Hanover’s 3rd annual Don’t Hide the Pride event that is
co-sponsored by Hanover Pride and the Town of Hanover. This year’s event
will be this Saturday, June 10th, from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Forge Pond
Park. Come for an hour or stay all evening. Join some events, talk about
the work that happens in town, and show support and inclusivity to the
LGBTQIA+ community in Hanover and beyond. There will be food trucks, vendor
tables, lawn games, a bouncy house, Myette’s beer garden, and prizes from
generous Hanover businesses.

This year’s schedule is filled with events for all:
4:00 p.m.: Don’t Hide the Pride kick off with a speaker.
4:15 p.m.: Storytime – “More Than Words” by Madison Carroll (HHS graduate).
Elaine Carroll will read the book and have signed copies available for
sale.
4:30 p.m.: HPS students of all grades will be singing
5:00 p.m.: Pet Fashion Show (all well behaved pets are welcome)
5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.: Jesse Stiglich Music school teen bands playing.
Bands are: “To Be Determined” (yes, that’s really their name, I checked!)
and “Haywired”. Come check out this great live music!
6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.: Mingle, more music and fun

available to anyone that needs them.

Day. Lunch is intended to be eaten onsite, so shuttle bus services will be
provided from the 3 senior housing developments and the COA. For ordering
accuracy and due to limited seating for lunch, registration is required.

This Sunday is the Phoenix Lodge Public Breakfast. The Lodge is located at
133 Broadway, at the corner of Broadway and Washington Street (Hanover Four
Corners).

Join them on Sunday, June 11th from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. for what some
folks say is the “best breakfast anywhere”.

Featuring: French toast, pancakes, eggs, homemade corned beef hash, home
fries, breakfast sausage, bacon, fresh fruit and juices, muffins, toast and
coffee.

You just can’t beat this price!!!

All of the proceeds from the breakfasts help to support their food pantry
and scholarship programs. Phoenix Lodge regularly donates to the Hanover,
Pembroke, Norwell and Rockland food pantries. They also provide two
scholarships each year to South Shore Regional Vocational Technical High
School.

Final ALL PRO DAD HANOVER Breakfast of the year!!!! – Friday, June 16th
Attention Center Elementary – Students (grades 2-4) and Dads:
All Pro Dad is a monthly gathering where dads get to intentionally engage
with their kids.
There will be a light, complimentary breakfast, fun activities, and a
character-based curriculum that helps dads start meaningful conversations
with their kids.

When: Friday, June 16th, 7:30 a.m. – 8:15 a.m.
Where: Riley Hall Building (next to Center Elementary) – 17 Silver Street
Who: Center School students (boy and girls) and their dads (or other
father-like figures)

The Hanover Unity Council, a 501 (c) (3) organization, is hosting a
“no-cook Tuesday” fundraiser at Chipotle this coming Tuesday! A
portion of the proceeds of all sales between 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on
June 6th at the Hanover Chipotle will be donated to the Hanover Unity
Council. You don’t have to cook – just order Chipotle for dinner and
let them do the cooking for you!

Share an afternoon of honor and praise in the presence of the Lord and
experience the Blessings of First Friday of the Sacred Heart Devotions.
Come and stay for all devotions or for as long as you can stay.

St. Mary of the Portiuncula and Mary Queen of Peace Secular Franciscan
Fraternities extend an invitation to pray together the Sacred Heart
Devotions, which include Adoration and Benediction of the Blessed
Sacrament, Chaplet of Divine Mercy, recitation of the Rosary, followed by
Stations of the Cross. Also, take the opportunity to go to the Sacrament
of Reconciliation with Fr. Mark Olejnik, Holy Ghost Church, Whitman, on
Chapel grounds from 3:15 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

The prayer intentions for June are for Family Unity and for the Missions of
the World. All are most welcome to join us to pray for your needs and
intentions.
