Library for Hispanic Heritage Month story and craft hour. The group will
read a story celebrating Hispanic Heritage and make a fun craft together.
The event is free and open to all.

Hanover Parent Teachers Alliance (HPTA) for dinner at Sullivan’s Hanover.
Friends, classmates, and neighbors are welcomed to dine-in (just ask for

wonderful treasures from many genres to add to your collection.

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

I’ve been asked to clarify the earlier email about the John Curtis Library
Saturday Summer Hours Information Session.

There was no actual “debate” about our library. Some members of the public
have shown interest in expanding library hours on Saturdays during the
summer months and there were some discussions about the topic on social
media. So, the library is offering a public forum to discuss about the
possibilities.

If you are interested in the John Curtis Library adding Saturday hours in
the summer, please join this informational session on Monday, September 18
at 6:00 p.m. Those in attendance will talk about what it would take to
make this happen. The session is being provided to allow for questions from
the public.

PLEASE NOTE — this event will take place in the Advisory Committee Room at
Town Hall and will be both in person AND via Zoom. Here is the link for

Did you know that your gently worn sneakers could help The Friends of the
John Curtis Library?

They can and here’s how: The Friends of the John Curtis Library are
participating in a fundraiser where there is nothing to buy or sell! All
they need is your support and your gently worn sneakers!

Here’s how you can help:
Gather any pairs of sneakers that you no longer want; maybe you’ve
outgrown them or they’re out of style, or you just have newer ones!
Every pair counts!
The sneakers that The Friends collect will help raise money to support the
library’s programs AND will help our environment by keeping sneakers out
of landfills.
Can you help? A collection box will be in the lower level of the library
through October 13th.

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

One Up Games will be at the John Curtis Free Library, 534 Hanover Street,
on Saturday, September 23rd from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. They will present a
program of open game play with virtual reality, featuring Nintendo Switch,
XBox Series S, PlayStation 4, and Oculus Quest 2.

They bring a variety of next-gen consoles and gaming monitors with popular
games along with a mix of classic and retro games. Players may play what
they wish, with the freedom to move to any system and play any game.

The program is for age 8 and older. Attendance is limited and registration
is required. Please register from the Calendar of Events section at
johncurtislibrary.com.

The program is funded by the Friends of the Library. For more information,

The Hanover Garden Club invites you to attend their September 21 program.
Landscape designer and horticulturist Christie Dustman will speak with
those in attendance about pruning. When to prune, and the proper way to
prune will be among the topics. Bring YOUR pruners for evaluation, and
maybe some small branches on which to test your new skills. The program
will be held at 12 noon at the Phoenix Lodge, Hanover Four Corners. A
light lunch will be served.
