Do-it-yourself crafts, clothing, accessories, signs, home décor and more.

This fall Park and Rec is kicking off a brand new program! Join Park and
Rec on November 14th for their first class. The projects you will be
creating are a tissue jar and round fall sign. Please dress appropriately
as you will be painting.

Essential oils program

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

Please join Hanover Parks and Recreation and Jillian Iacadoro of “Young
Living Essential Oils” as she offers a program on winter wellness using
essential oils! Your $20 enrollment fee includes all the supplies and oils
needed to make six different essential oil-based wellness tools, including
an immune-support roller, a skin-soothing spray, and a calming essential
oil blend (perfect for overwhelmed kids and adults!) They will also be
giving a general overview of “Young Living Essential Oils”, covering how to
use them, and outlining safe oil use for all members of your family. They
will be using grapeseed and coconut oil as carrier oils, please let them
know of any allergies.

Phoenix Lodge Public Breakfast

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

Public Breakfast

Phoenix Masonic Lodge, located at 133 Broadway (the corner of Broadway and
Washington Street, in the Four Corners area) in Hanover will be having
their next monthly Public Breakfast on Sunday, November 10, 2019.
Breakfast will be served from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. by the volunteer members
of Phoenix Lodge.

Their all-you-can-eat menu includes pancakes, French toast, bacon, sausage,
and their own homemade home fries and roast beef hash. They also offer
scrambled eggs, fried eggs cooked to order, a variety of toasts, various
juices and coffee. The price is $8.00 for adults, $4.00 for kids ages 5 to
12, and kids under 5 are FREE.

Proceeds from the breakfasts are used to support the local food pantries in
Hanover, Norwell and Pembroke.

Hanover Club’s 23rd Annual Holiday Gift Show

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

Don’t miss the Hanover Club’s 23rd Annual Holiday Gift Show on Sunday,
November 10th at Hanover High School. Sponsored this year by Richardson
Insurance, the Gift Show is a one-of-a-kind, well-established, much-loved
community service event where 100% of the proceeds go back to the Hanover
community. Scholarships for Hanover students and their annual St. Patrick’s
Day luncheon for our senior citizens are just some of the ways that the
Hanover Club actively supports our town.

Admission is $3 for adults, $1 for seniors and children (includes 1 raffle
ticket).

Doors open at 10:00 a.m. and close at 2:00 p.m.

With 100 vendor spaces in a completely sold-out space, the high school will
be jam-packed with unique vendors and high-quality products. The popular
raffle table will have drawings every hour. Raffle tickets: $1 each / $5
for $10. Don’t miss out on a chance to win fabulous prizes and products
from the vendors!

The Club is excited to announce Santa Claus will be joining the Show once
again this year. New this year- A limited number of photo passes will be
available to have your picture taken by Abbey Knoll Photography between
11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., with pictures available to download after the
event ($10 per family). Purchase your pass at the door. Outside of these
times, bring your personal camera.

Baby and Me Stroller Barre

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

Baby and Me Stroller Barre
Last fall, Hanover Park and Recreation introduced a brand new program and
by popular demand they will continue with a new session! Join instructor
Kate Woodard for Baby and Me Stroller Barre!

Baby and Me Stroller Barre is a 45-minute total body cardio and strength
class incorporating movements from a variety of fitness disciplines (barre,
Pilates, yoga, HIIT and strength training) to promote stability, posture,
cardiovascular endurance and muscular strength. Participants will use their
stroller for all barre focused exercises and a yoga mat for floor work.
Each class will have dedicated core and pelvic floor work for postpartum
moms. No previous barre experience needed. All are welcome! Children are
not expected to remain in the stroller for the duration of the class.
Participants should be prepared to be responsible for the activities of
their children throughout.

Who: Infants and toddlers with an adult
When:
Wednesdays, October 16th – November 6th
Saturdays, November 2nd – November 23rd
Where: Hanover COA (665 Center Street)
Time: Wednesdays, 10:30 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.
Saturdays, 8:45 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.

Psychic Fair this Saturday

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

Looking for something to do this weekend, and for a good cause, too? This
just in!

ALTRUSA International of Plymouth County will hold a Psychic Fair on
Saturday 10/26 from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the American Legion Hall
at 104 King Street in Hanover.
A 15 minute reading from a psychic of your choice will be $35.00, and
admission is free.
They will have 8 vendors, too, with a cash bar. There will be plenty to do
and see if you have to wait for the reader.

Altrusa is a 501 C3 organization that was organized in 1917. All proceeds
from this fundraiser will be used for the betterment of our communities.

The Tooth Fairy and Children’s Halloween Parties at Library!

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

The Tooth Fairy will be coming to the library on Thursday, October 24 at
4:00 p.m. to teach about healthy foods, what to expect at a dental
appointment and how to properly brush and floss! Everyone will get to brush
a stuffed animal’s teeth while we sing tooth fairy songs! Of course she’ll
read a tooth fairy story and everyone will leave with a dental goody bag!
No registration needed.

Children’s Halloween Parties at Library
The John Curtis Library will host two Halloween parties for children on
Monday, October 28.
At 4:00 p.m. there will be a party for younger children, ages one to three
years. There will be stories, songs, games, a costume parade through the
library, and snacks.
At 5:00 p.m. there will be a party for older children, ages four and up.
This one will include “slightly scary” stories, songs, the making of a
witches’ brew using creepy ingredients, games, and snacks.
Entertainment for the older party is funded by the Friends of the Library.

Calling all collectors!

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

CALLING ALL COLLECTORS!!

Calling all collectors, hobbyists, artisans! Share your treasures with
others by displaying them at the John Curtis Free Library here in Hanover!
Hang 2-dimensional art on the walls of the large meeting room or display
small 3-dimensional pieces in the cabinets upstairs in the adult
circulation area. No one is too young or too old to share . . . and
treasures appeal to all ages.

They’ve welcomed model cars, antique hand fans, Christmas nutcrackers,
calligraphy items, handcrafted wood pieces, pottery, and much more in the
display cases, with many types of paintings, posters, photographs, and
other visuals on the walls.

Do you have something you’d love to share with others who visit the
library? They would love to help that happen! Please contact Virginia
