Thanks Hanover, from Hanover!

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

I could not let this past week go by without a shout out and “the town’s”
deepest thanks to the Emergency Management team – including the Hanover
Police Department, Hanover Fire Department, Hanover CERT, Hanover DPW, and
Hanover Community Development and Municipal Inspections, and also Hanover’s
Community Services, Finance, Library, Information Technology and School
Departments for stepping up to the plate this week and managing an
incredible response to some very challenging circumstances.

Fully 84% of us were without power at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, and we were
declared back up and at 100% power at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. I’ve seen
pictures of decades old trees across Main Street and Whiting Streets, a
motorcycle accident at West Hanover Square, and reports of over 100
incidents that needed an emergency response. Thankfully, I am not aware of
any life-threatening injuries to a Hanover resident. Our partnership with
National Grid and other regional response teams was tremendous. Was it
perfect? No. Was it incredibly safe, well communicated given the
circumstances, and was Hanover well served by it’s public servants? You
bet. So proud to live in this town!

Nice job, folks…from the appreciative residents of the Town of Hanover!

Golden Apple Recognition

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

As the 2019/2020 school year is now well underway, the Hanover Foundation
for Educational Enrichment (HFEE) wishes to thank the many families who
participated in the Golden Apple Program during the 2018/2019 school year.
Last year’s card selection was designed by Lilly Paulicelli who is now in
the 8th grade.

The Golden Apple card gives students and parents an opportunity to
recognize a teacher or staff member who has made a difference in their
lives. It was an exceptional year with over 120 teachers or staff members
being recognized from many Hanover families. This is a great opportunity
for families to recognize the teachers and staff for their hard work,
dedication and excellence in educating the students of Hanover.

The Foundation congratulates these fine teachers and staff for their
well-deserved recognition and thanks the many families for their support
and participation in the Golden Apple Program. For more information,
please e-mail hanoverfoundation@gmail.com .
