Dear fellow Hanoverians:
Connecting the Vines: What to plant in July Sponsored by Eastern Bank and
the Hanover Historical Society Education Fund
Children’s Hearth and Home Program
Historic Food ways at the Hanover Historical Society
July 30th 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
This program sets children off on an adventure of historical gardening. An
educator from the South Shore Science Center will take children on a nature
walk through the museum’s herb garden and show what herbs were used in the
mid- 19th Century and how we can use them today.
Children will use their sense of smell and touch in creating their own
flowerpot gardens they can take home. Traditional dress up clothes, games,
and a play about gardening will also be provided for families to enjoy at
their leisure. Children will learn what seeds to plant in July, when they
will bloom, and what type of fruit or herb they will bear.
Programs are free, but registration is required, and limited to 30 children
per session. To register for a session please e-mail
Hanoverhistoricalsociety@gmail.com or call 781-826-9575.
