Dear fellow Hanoverians:
The children’s summer reading season will officially start on Thursday,
July 9 at 3:00 p.m. with a concert by Davis Bates and Roger Tincknell at
the John Curtis Library. The award-winning performers, who have appeared
at the library numerous times, present songs and stories from around the
world and play a variety of instruments. This program is supported in part
by a grant from the Hanover Cultural Council, a local agency which is
supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
Registration for the summer reading program will begin immediately after
the concert. Children will be given reading logs and can earn prizes all
summer based on the time they spend reading. This year’s theme is
“Every Hero has a Story”.
To attend the concert, please register online from the library’s website,
www.hanovermass.com/library . Click on Calendar at the far right, scroll
down to the event and click the “Register” box. For more information,
call 781-826-2972, extension 4 or e-mail the children’s librarian at
lcampbell@ocln.org.
