Special Town Meeting results

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

In all of my 25 years in Hanover, I have never seen approximately (stay
tuned for the official count) 716 people vote unanimously for a debt
exclusion override vote…until Monday night. Even the high school vote in
2008 – with over 1100 voters – had two or three public naysayers at the
meeting.

This evening the Town of Hanover took the first step toward an addition to
the Center School – a more than two-thirds vote at the Special Town Meeting
held Monday, September 26th. And yes, in fact, it was unanimous.

The vote and the project are only halfway there, though. Next on the
docket – a vote at the polls on Saturday, October 1st, 2016. That’s this
Saturday. A majority of the town will decide one way or the other to
either build the addition, or not.

The polls are open from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. at Hanover High School,
located at 287 Cedar Street. See you there.
