Dear fellow Hanoverians:
I have been both humbled and overwhelmed by the attention I
have received over the past couple of weeks or so since the announcement that I
am the 2009 Spirit of Hanover Community Service Award recipient. Those of
you who know me well will know that I am far more comfortable being a part of a
team, or as someone’s campaign manager, or as a vice-chair of a
committee. In my role as editor for “Around Town on the Web”,
I can hide behind my computer and let my written words speak for me. To
have this much consideration bestowed upon me makes me feel like my flower
bulbs must have felt for the last few months…completely snowed
under. J
Please accept this e-blast as a small measure of my
thanks. I could not let another day go by without at least acknowledging
the scores of well-wishers among you. I am further grateful to those who
nominated me – or signed letters of support – on my
nomination’s behalf. Your tributes are amazing to me.
You will continue to hear from me and “Around Town on
the Web” as I highlight the framework and the fabric of what makes our
community so grand. I like to think of myself as a cog in the wheel, and
so deeply appreciate those of you who are also a part of this greatness.
If I have done nothing else with “ATOTW”, I hope I continue to
inspire you to the call to service for our little town.

Legion.
