What are the major issues confronting the town which involve your office?
Please express your opinion on these issues and how you propose to deal
with them.
Town and Business Growth – This is a good problem to have but requires
planning. As a long time resident of the town, I am committed to managing
that growth in a way that maintains the character of the town. I will
achieve this by utilizing the master plan and staying true to our bylaws.
Bylaw Updates – Many of the town’s bylaws were put in place as guard
rails to plan for and prevent over development. Many of the bylaws are
foundational and solid which allows our community to maintain its unique
appeal and charm. However, we also need to acknowledge that things change
over time. Thus, it is critical that the Planning Board listens to the
needs of residents and local businesses alike to adapt the bylaws to best
serve all parties. For example, this year the Planning Board is proposing a
yearlong moratorium on the Village Planned Unit Development (VPUD) bylaw.
This bylaw was created and utilized to promote development along Route 53.
Given the increase of recent developments and projects that fall under the
VPUD bylaw, the proposed moratorium will give the Planning Board time to
review this bylaw and ensure that all future developments are in the best
interest of the town. It is vital that the Planning Board remain vigilant
with both enforcing our current bylaws and ensuring they work for and make
sense for our residents and the town.
Why Are You Running For Office:
The Town of Hanover has always been very important to me. I believe that
all the boards and committees in town have a direct impact on our community
in different ways. I have the utmost respect for those who volunteer their
time to be a part of making this town better on a daily basis. It truly
does take a village. The Planning Board affords me the opportunity to
impact current and future development to ensure it is beneficial and
fitting to the community we all call home.

Working with the planning board to encourage more participation with
long-term planning (master plan). Continue to work with the board to create
more reasonable price housing for seniors in first time homeowners.

I’ve been on the planning board for over 15 years as an associate member.
Last year I was appointed to an unfilled position and would like to
continue as an elected member of the board.
