Dear fellow Hanoverians:
Each year we come together as a nation on Veterans Day to honor and
celebrate the hundreds of thousands of brave Americans who have served our
country in uniform. Now more than ever, our veterans need our support. In a
time when our country is divided on so many issues, we can surely all agree
that those individuals who risked everything to protect our country and our
way of life deserve our support and gratitude.
That’s why this year, the Hanover Woman’s Club Juniors and the American
Legion Post 149 Ladies Auxiliary are participating in “Operation Green
Light for Veterans”, an initiative designed to shine a light on the
service of our veterans and their families.
As part of Operation Green Light for Veterans, the Hanover Woman’s Club
Juniors and American Legion Post 149 Ladies Auxiliary will be illuminating
their homes green for the month of November and they encourage individuals
and businesses to join them by changing one light bulb in the entryway of
your house or business to a green bulb. By shining a green light, Hanover
residents let veterans know that they are seen, appreciated, and supported.
While this event is focused on Veterans Day and the month of November, the
Woman’s Club Juniors and the Ladies Auxiliary hope it sparks conversation
and encourages support for veterans year-round. This Veterans Day, join
them in shining a light of hope and support. Join Operation Green Light and
turn Hanover green for our veterans.
Green bulbs may be purchased at Curry Ace Paint and Hardware, Amazon, Home
Depot, Lowes and Walmart. For more information, please contact Jeanne
Cianciola at jcianciola@comcast.net or see the attached flyer.
