Jr. Celtics Program at Cardinal Cushing Centers

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

Cardinal Cushing Centers is proud to be chosen as a host site for the 2017
Jr. Celtics Program.

The Jr. Celtics Program is a four week program for children with
intellectual disabilities enrolled in grades three to five. The program is
designed to help participants develop their basketball game through skills,
drills and leadership training. The skills and drills are all designed by
coaches of the Boston Celtics and help challenge participants in measurable
ways over the course of four weeks. After attending one of the Jr. Celtics
clinics where they learn directly from Celtics players, participants
continue to improve their skills at their home gym. The players track
their skills on official Jr. Celtics Score Sheets and data is reported back
to the Celtics. They are challenged through these clinics to improve their
skills for a chance to come to a Celtics Basketball Game as a Future
Celtics All-Star.

“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with the Boston Celtics,”
said Cushing’s Vice President of Development, Jansi Chandler. “We
kicked off our collaboration on a wonderfully high note, with the Boston
Celtics and TD Bank overhauling our Recreation Center back in 2015. It’s
a beautiful and comfortable space where students can socialize and relax
with one another afterschool and on the weekends. This is our second year
participating in the Jr. Celtics program – we’re so pleased!”

The program will take place on Saturday mornings from 11:30-12:30 in the
school gym beginning Saturday January 7th. January 14th is the official
Future Celtics Kick-Off Clinic at Madison Park High School. Each
participant will receive a Future Celtics T-shirt and a Celtics basketball.
For more information or to sign up please contact Tom McElman at
781-829-1295 or tmcelman@cushingcenters.org.

A football season for the ages

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

As I am sure you have heard by now, Hanover High School’s football team is
the Division 3 Super Bowl Champion! Congratulations to all involved!

It was a storybook season for the ages – undefeated 12-0 overall, 4-0 in
their league, Patriot-Fisher Division Champions, seeded first in the South
Region, winners over Norton, Ashland and Holliston to become South
Champions, and then over Triton in the semi-finals and Grafton by a score

Please join me in congratulating the young men on the team who are listed
on the roster that is found here:
