ADHD program and the ATOTW archives

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

The January 13th “Effective Strategies for working with ADHD” workshop has
been rescheduled to January 27th at 7:00 p.m. at Hanover High School. For
more details, see the ATOTW archives.

This change to the date and time reminds me to remind you about the “Around
Town on the Web” archives! As one of my friends says, “It’s like having an
electronic file cabinet for all of Hanover”. At the bottom of every ATOTW
e-mail is a link to the archives. Click on it. Or, just go to the main
page (www.atotw.com) and click on the “E-mail Archive” tab. If all else
fails, google Around Town on the Web archives or something similar and it
will come right up.

Once you get there, you can quickly review this week’s postings, or even
search for something from weeks or months ago. For instance, I just put
“ADHD” in the search box, and all of the details from the January 13th
program came right up in case I needed to review them and decide whether or
not to go on January 27th.

Check it out! Special thanks to ATOTW tech guru Mike Van Lare for making
this service to our community possible.

Dogs!

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

Hanover Town Clerk Cathy Harder-Bernier announced today that 2015 Town of
Hanover dog licenses are now available in the Hanover Town Clerk’s
Office. Residents may fill out the dog license application that is found
on-line on the Town Clerk’s section of the Town of Hanover website at:
http://www.hanover-ma.gov/sites/hanoverma/files/file/file/hanover_dog_license_application.pdf
. Completed forms may be mailed in with payment, proof of rabies
vaccination, and appropriate pre-paid return mailing envelope to the Town
Clerk’s Office, 550 Hanover Street, Hanover, MA 02339 and your tag will
be mailed back to you. As has always been the case, dog licenses may also
be obtained in person at the Town Clerk’s Office during normal business
hours.

Hanover residents are reminded that license fees were increased at the May
2013 Annual Town Meeting and are as follows: spayed or neutered dogs are
$10, and female or male intact dogs are $15. The licensing period is
January 1, 2015 – April 30, 2015, and a $35 late fee applies beginning
May 1, 2015. The license is good for one year. Unlicensed dogs are
subject to a minimum of a $25 fine, with an additional $25 fine if
unleashed and $50 if unvaccinated for rabies.

According to Massachusetts General Laws, the owner or keeper of a dog over
the age of 6 months shall obtain a license for the dog from the Town Clerk.
The owner of the dog needs to provide the Town Clerk with a veterinary
certification that the dog was vaccinated for rabies. If the dog is spayed
or neutered and has not been registered in Hanover prior to this year, or
is newly altered, a copy of the certificate or receipt from the
veterinarian who spayed or neutered the dog must also be submitted.

If you have questions or need more information about licensing your dog in
Hanover, please call the Town Clerk’s Office at (781) 826-5000 x1079 or
e-mail catherine.harderbernier@hanover-ma.gov or
joanne.oconnor@hanover-ma.gov .
