Hanover’s Halloween Parade

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

This is simply one of those “don’t miss” Hanover traditions!

parade will take place at the Hanover High School on Cedar Street.

Registration will begin at 1:15 p.m. in the courtyard in front of the high
school. The parade will begin at 1:30 led by the Hanover High School Band.
Following the parade the children will be entertained with games, bubbles
and music by Miss Stacy from Pick-a-Party. Goodies bags will be distributed
at the end of the event. In the case of rain, the festivities will be
moved indoors to the cafeteria.

Registration forms, attached to this e-mail and also provided throughout
the elementary and pre-schools, can be turned in with the $3.00 fee per
child to the schools or at the John Curtis Library drop off box provided.
Deadline for forms is no later than Friday October 24. Forms can also be
picked up at the library. Walk-ins may register on the day of the parade.

The club is also asking for donations of non-perishable food items to help
fill the shelves of the Hanover Emergency Food Pantry. The items can be
dropped off at the registration site on the day of the parade.

HHS newspaper and literary magazine

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

This just in from the students of Hanover High School!

Newspaper has just started up this year. The Indian is meant to be the
official student news sources of Hanover High School. It is a student run
website at www.hhsindian.com . Stories are posted about every two weeks.
They cover a wide variety of topics occurring in the school from
extracurricular activities to major school policy decisions. There are also
book reviews and pop culture stories as well. They’re seeking to expand
their horizons and reach out to the greater community in Hanover. Any
feedback can be emailed to hhsindian@hanoverstudents.org .

Literary Magazine is continuing this year as well. Lit Mag is a way for
students to share their creative writing with a wider audience. It is an
online publication at www.hanoverlitmag.com with print editions made 2-3
times a year. The content of the site consists of mostly short stories and
poems. Any student can submit just about anything. The site is entirely
student moderated. Updates are not on a particular schedule but end up
being fairly often. Feedback for Lit Mag can be sent to
hhslitmag@hanoverstudents.org .

A contact person for both of these publications is Sue McHugh, the
Librarian at the High School. Her e-mail is smchugh@hanoverschools.org .
