Friendly hockey wager

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

The Town Managers of Hanover and Abington, in anticipation of their
upcoming playoff semi-final High School hockey game on Friday, have squared
off in a friendly, community-centric wager.

Hanover Town Manager Troy Clarkson has offered up breakfast at Hanover’s
landmark breakfast restaurant, Joe’s Coffee Shop, along with a pound of
Hilliard’s chocolates.

Abington Town Manager Rick LaFond has countered with breakfast at
Martin’s in North Abington Center and a gallon of ice cream choice from
“Cream,” a favorite local ice cream eatery.

“Both communities have rallied around their teams and this is a great way
to highlight this positive rivalry and the hard work of our high school
athletes and coaches,” said Clarkson.

The game will be held at 7:30 p.m. in Bourne Friday night. For more
information, contact troy.clarkson@hanover-ma.gov .

Election worker positions available

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

Town Clerk Cathy Harder-Bernier announced today that two job postings for
election workers are now available on the town’s website.

“Every year scores of election workers work tirelessly on election day to
ensure that Hanover residents are able to exercise one of the greatest
privileges of our country’s democracy, the right to vote,” said
Harder-Bernier.

Workers are being hired in anticipation of the May 10th Annual Town
Election, and once hired, they would be eligible for re-appointment over
the summer for the following fiscal year, which will feature three
elections. “Hanover’s elections are among the best well-run elections
across the state. We look forward to adding new members to our team of
workers”, said Harder-Bernier.

Postings for the two election worker positions are on the town’s website,
and may be found at:
http://www.hanover-ma.gov/personnel/pages/current-employment-opportunities
. Questions may be directed to Ann Lee, Executive Assistant, Town of
Hanover at (781) 826-5000 x1084 or ann.lee@hanover-ma.gov . Cover letters
and resumes must be submitted to Ms. Lee by March 12th in order to receive
consideration.
