Welcome Dr. Batchelder

Dear fellow Hanoverians:
The Hanover School Committee is pleased to announce that Dr. Carl R.
Batchelder will be joining the Hanover Public Schools as the new
interim superintendent. Dr. Batchelder comes to Hanover after retiring
in 2009 from the Woburn Public Schools, where he served for 15 years
as Superintendent. Dr. Batchelder has 36 years of experience in
education serving as a teacher, principal, assistant superintendent
and superintendent.
Ultimately, there were two very qualified candidates before the School
Committee. The Committee chose Dr. Batchelder by a vote of 3 in favor
and 1 abstention. The Committee is convinced that Dr. Batchelder’s
collaborative attitude, thoughtful demeanor and view towards strategic
planning make him the perfect fit for the Hanover Schools during this
interim period. Dr. Batchelder also has significant experience with
issues facing our school district, including level funded budgets, the
NEASC accreditation process and hiring administrative staff.
Please join “Around Town on the Web” in welcoming Dr. Batchelder
to Hanover! We hope to hear from him often as we all benefit!
