Box Tops for Education

Dear fellow Hanoverians:
*BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION ~ *Helps raise money for Hanover Schools!
Please help the Hanover Parent-Teacher Alliance raise money for
Hanover schools by clipping and collecting Box Tops for Education
found on many popular products including:
General Mills Cereals

Betty Crocker Products

Juicy Juice

Pillsbury Products

Land o Lakes Products

Nature Valley Products

Ziploc Products
Avery Office Products

And MANY more!

Box Tops collection containers may be found around town in every
school office, at the Library, the Senior Center, the Transfer
Station, Shaws, the Parks and Rec Center, and the Cushing Residences.
Box Tops deposited in these containers are collected 3-4 times a year
and added to the collections from Hanover students. The money raised
benefits the children of Hanover Schools.

*Every year the HPTA raises THOUSANDS of dollars with this program! In
2011-2012 they collected nearly $10,000!*
Each Box Top is worth $.10 and they add up quickly!
Money raised helps pay for programs, services and school needs that
are not covered by the regular budget. Funds help offset field trip
expenses and special events for students. Sports equipment, books and
games are purchased. Technology equipment has been invested in and
educational support programs have been made available. Every cent goes
toward things that /directly /benefit the students of Hanover. Please
look for Box Tops on products you purchase, clip them, place them in a
Ziploc baggie or sealed envelope and deposit them in one of the
collection boxes around town.
*THANK YOU FOR CLIPPING AND SUPPORTING HANOVER SCHOOLS!*

SEASONAL INFLUENZA CLINICS

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

The Hanover Board of Health, in conjunction with the Hanover Visiting
Nurse Association, has scheduled their annual public flu clinics to be
held at the *Hanover Council on Aging*, 665 Center Street, Hanover:

Friday, October 12, 2012 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Wednesday, October 17, 2012 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Please note:
Because of budget cuts across all departments, the Massachusetts
Department of Public Health is no longer able to provide free vaccine
to cities and towns except to those residents who are either
un-insured or under-insured (meaning their health plan will not cover
the cost of a flu shot).

The Board of Health has purchased an adequate supply of flu vaccine to
make up for the lesser amount received from the State. *** All persons
will be asked to present an insurance card (most insurance plans
welcome) and the insurance plan will cover the cost of the flu shot
***.

No one will be turned away on the basis of insurance eligibility.

The state is no longer able to provide Pneumonia or Tetanus vaccine
for the above reason.

Please remember to wear short sleeves.

If you require additional information, please call the Hanover Health
Office at (781) 826-4611 or e-mail health@hanover-ma.gov

.

functioning skills /*
* *
*Tuesday, October 9, 2012*

Meeting Location: *Hanover High School (First Floor), *Cedar Street,

*/Description:/*
After a long day at school, even the most organized and capable
students may find themselves challenged to initiate, organize, and
self-regulate the homework process. Parents face the daunting task of
providing just right supports, while attempting to determine which
supports and strategies will actually help their children succeed.
Students can become successful Homework Project Managers by developing
and using consistent, self-guided processes that allow them to
complete homework independently and efficiently. During this
presentation we will review one effective model useful for students of
all ages. We will also discuss specific strategies embedded in the
model and explore how parents can develop and nurture their
children’s executive functioning skills.
