On-line registration for HYAA Fall 2012 sports is now open. You can
register for Football, Cheerleading and Fall Soccer at www.hyaa.net

now thru April 30th at the regular registration price. For the Golf
program, you can register directly on Rockland Golf Course’s website
at www.rgcjrgolf.com
.

HYAA will hold ONE in-person registration at the Hanover High School
Library on Tuesday, April 24th from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. HYAA Board
members will be on hand to assist you with on-line registrations
during that time. Rockland Golf Course representatives will also be on
hand that evening in case you have any questions for them. There are
no paper registrations for HYAA; all registrations are done on-line.
Family discounts can be done on-line, it is NOT necessary to attend
the in-person registration to apply for them.

/Cedar School PTA,/ in conjunction with /The Company Theatre,/ is
proud to present: “Seussical the Musical, Jr.” starring the
talented 1st – 4th grade students at Cedar Elementary School.

Shows are: Friday, April 13th at 6:00 p.m.; Saturday, April 14th at
2:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 14th at 5:00 p.m. at the new Hanover
High School’s Robert J. Nyman Memorial Auditorium. Tickets are $10.00
and there is reserved seating only. Tickets will be held at the “will
call” window at the Hanover High School and can be picked up 30
minutes prior to show time. Please complete the following form:

Hanover Community Television is pleased to announce its partnership
with the MIT Enterprise Forum to bring a live broadcast of the MIT
Clean Energy Prize to HCTV on* April 30, 2012*. The Hanover simulcast
will take place at Hanover High School in the Multi-purpose Room from
4:45 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Now in its 5th year, the MIT Clean Energy Prize Program is an
exciting, annual collaboration between the MIT Clean Energy Prize, MIT
Enterprise Forum, and NSTAR, featuring a free, exhibition-style
showcase of student-driven companies competing for the illustrious
$200,000 prize.
You can be at the live simulcast to listen to Bill Joy, co-founder of
Sun Microsystems, and Jason Pontin, publisher of Technology Review, as
they lead a clean energy “fireside” chat titled: The Future of Clean
Energy.

vacation week at the John Curtis Free Library; read on!

*Tuesday, April 17*
4:00 p.m. Magic by Scott Jameson. Amazing illusions with lots of
humor. Free tickets are available at the children’s room desk.
7:00 – 7:30 p.m. Pajama Story Time. Bedtime stories for children of
all ages. Wear pajamas and bring a stuffed animal.

*Wednesday, April 18*
11:00 – 11:45 a.m. Mother Goose On The Loose. Special story time
geared toward young children, but all ages are welcome.

*Friday, April 20*
2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Free Craft Time. Create your own art and craft
projects from a variety of provided materials.

*Saturday, April 21*
11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Mamasteph concert. Wonderful local performer
plays guitar and sings children’s songs.
2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Game Day. Board games, puzzles and Wii for children
and teens.

All programs are free and open to the public. All programs other than

Bring spring indoors for Easter! Join the scouts of Hanover Troop 1 as
they offer spring/Easter flower pots for sale. Look for their sign on
Saturday, April 7th starting at 8:00 a.m. at the Congregational
Church’s Riley Hall on Rt. 139 across from the John Curtis Library.
They will have a large selection of tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, and
lilies selling for $7.00; mums and pansies selling for $10.00 as well
as special arrangements. Everyone loves spring/Easter flowers –
hostesses, grandmas, moms and dads!

Description: / Having a high “Social I.Q.” is extremely important for
all children and young adults. Cooperation, empathy, conflict
resolution, managing emotions, and listening skills are important
skills that are not learned by all children naturally. For some
children, complex mathematics is easier than carrying on a
conversation with a peer. The good news is that social skills can be
taught to children. Social Thinking techniques were developed to help
children get through their school day as well as develop and maintain
friendships. What are Social Thinking Skills? How we know if a student
will benefit from Social Thinking groups and strategies? Participants
in this workshop will gain increased knowledge and understanding of
social thinking, and strategies to stimulate the development of these
skills in diverse learners.

The PAC is a parent group whose mission is to work toward
understanding, respect, support and appropriate education for all

to make them the best they can be for all children.

*National Library Snapshot Day is coming to John Curtis Free Library*

On Wednesday, April 18, John Curtis Free Library will join libraries
across the Commonwealth and the nation to provide a “snapshot” of
what happens in a day in the life of libraries. How many books are
checked out? How many people receive help finding a job? Doing their
taxes? Doing their homework? During Snapshot Day, libraries will
collect data and photos that help demonstrate the value of libraries
and raise public awareness that libraries are busier than ever. Over
the past decade, libraries in Massachusetts have experienced a
dramatic surge in usage, including a 50% increase in library visits
and a 29% increase in circulation.

Nationally, Snapshot Day is supported by the American Library
Association which will compile state data to provide a national look
at a day in the life of libraries. Massachusetts Library Snapshot Day
is presented by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners, the
Massachusetts Regional Library System, the Massachusetts Library
Association, the Massachusetts School Library Association, and Boston
Public Library.

Dear fellow Hanoverians:
The Hanover Permanent Scholarship Fund (HPSF) is conducting its Annual
Fund Drive. Letters have been mailed, including a return envelope for
your donation, to most Hanover residents this week. HPSF awards over
50 scholarships annually to Hanover students from any high school.
Last year the total awarded was over $32,500. All donations are
invested and awards made from the interest earned. Donations may be
made in memory of, or in honor of, an individual if you choose and all
donations are acknowledged.
If you did not receive a letter, donations may be sent to P.O. Box 67,
