Residential house break-ins again

Dear fellow Hanoverians:
The warm weather was upon us the past couple of weeks, and many of us
were delighted to throw open our windows for the first time in months.
Unfortunately, area thieves seized upon the opportunity as well and
were back in action breaking into Hanover homes.
This is just a friendly reminder to Hanover residents to be alert for
suspicious activity involving residential house breaks. Hanover Police
have investigated two in the past couple of weeks and want to remind
residents to call 911 anytime that they feel that something suspicious
may be happening around their neighborhood.

The two breaks were in the north end of Hanover (Webster Street area)
and occurred during daytime hours during the workweek. No vehicles
were seen in area. Entry was gained either by a locked door (smashed
in) or unlocked door. Items taken included guitars, laptops and mainly
jewelry. Most likely more than one person was involved. Targeted
houses did not have any vehicles in driveways at the time of the
break-in and both homes did not have garages. Also, targeted homes are
on well traveled roadways and not set off the roadway. If you have any
follow-up non-urgent information in regards to these break-ins, please
contact Hanover Police Detectives at (781) 826-2335. Evolving or
suspicious situations always warrant a 911 call, though!

Town Census is vital

Dear fellow Hanoverians:
As you may remember, the Town Census is updated every year and the
Board of Registrar’s Office mails census forms in January. This
year, forms were mailed and due back to the Registrar’s Office on
January 18th. I was in Town Hall the other day and learned that
Registrar’s Office spends countless hours trying to track down
unreturned census forms in an effort to confirm the population of our
town. They are devoted servants, but they do need and deserve our help
and support!
If you have not returned your census, even if no changes were
necessary, please update and sign your form immediately and mail it
in. If you no longer have your form, you may call stop by the
Registrar’s Office in the bottom floor of Town Hall or even just
call them at (781) 826-8796. *Failure to respond to the census mailing
shall result in removal from the active voting list and may result in
removal from the voter registration rolls.*
Further, if you consider that a few moments of your time this week
could save you from waiting an hour or more at the polls to clarify
your residency when you try to vote for our country’s president in
November, you will agree that this will be time well spent! Another
crucial purpose of this information is so that the Hanover Police and
Fire Departments will know who lives in your house in case of an
emergency or fire. Don’t delay any longer, confirm your census
information today!
Remember that Town Hall is open Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from
8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Wednesdays from 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. and
Fridays from 8:00 a.m. – noon.
