Summer program registration dates clarification

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

Special thanks to Town of Hanover Parks and Rec chair Julianne

Recreation Administrator Marc Craig who helped me to correct and clarify the
following:

Summer Park and Rec mail in registration is still on-going
through Friday, March 20th.  This is the program which has no
current openings for Sessions One and Two, but 25 slots for Session Three as of
today.  Mail in your application and check TODAY.

The first day for walk-in registration for the summer Park
and Rec program is Monday, March 23rd.  (Don’t wait until
then, unless you are happy with the waitlist).

Summer Teen Extreme mail in registration began today,
Monday, March 16th.  This program is filling up fast; mail
yours today.

The first day for walk-in registration for Teen Extreme is Monday,
March 30th.

The town and I apologize for any confusion; there are some
incorrect dates out there, but this is accurate!

Jou Nouvo outreach project at St. Andrew’s

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

Each year for Lent, the St. Andrew’s Sunday School program
does an outreach project.  This year they are supporting a foundation
called Jou Nouvo
("New Day" in Haitian Creole), created by Hanover resident Kerline
Tofuri. Jou Nouvo helps
impoverished women and children in Haiti by offering them educational and
economic opportunities as well as health care.  On March 22nd,
St. Andrew’s Sunday School will be holding a bake sale and talent show to raise
money for Jou Nouvo that is open to
the public
. This will start at 11:15 a.m. in the St.
Andrew’s Parish Hall. Tickets for the talent show can be purchased at the
door.  Individuals are $3, families are $10.  Donations of school
supplies are also welcome.  St. Andrew’s is accepting pens, pencils,
crayons, notepads, vitamins, toothpaste, toothbrushes and backpacks (new or
used).  If you have any questions, please contact Sunday School Director
Kristi Oliveira by calling the church office at (781) 826-2062.

Want to participate in Hanover Day 2009?

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

HANOVER DAY 2009 will be here before you know it!

The Hanover Cultural Council is busy planning our 4th annual
Hanover Day Celebration for Saturday, June 20, 2009 from 10 am – 4 pm at
Sylvester/B. Everett Hall Field on Rte. 139.  For the past few years we
have held concerts, an art show, a craft fair, antique auto show, programs at
the Stetson House, the John Curtis Library and much more. The "Taste of
Hanover" has also been a big hit and gives event attendees a chance to
sample some delicious cuisine from local restaurants.

We’d love to have you participate!

We are currently looking for groups and businesses who would like to
participate either by having a booth or table to pass out information, do a
project, display, etc., crafters, restaurant owners for the "Taste",
or groups/businesses to do demonstrations or programs.  For example, in
the past we have had such demos as martial arts, wood turning, K-9 police dogs,
beekeeping & container gardening.  Groups who have booths often give
handouts, do raffles, make a kid’s craft or face painting, etc.  This
event is a great opportunity to show off what your group or business is
promoting, to raise money or to sell items.

If you are interested in participating, we ask that you contact us by May
15, 2009 so that we can get an idea of how many groups we will have.

We hope for and anticipate a large turnout at this event – we have had
anywhere from 1,000 – 2,500 people attend the event in the past. Our mission is
to build community, get old and new friends together and provide a showcase of
the many things that Hanover has to offer.

Please email Katie Duff at aribba@aol.com
or call (781) 878-0424 for more information. For inquiries about the craft fair
please contact Linda DiNardo at lldinardo@comcast.net.

Thank you!
