LAURA’S COUNTRY CHURCH FAIR

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

The First Congregational Church of Hanover (Route 139) will present its
Annual Laura’s Country Church Fair on Saturday, November 2 from 9:30 a.m.
to 2:00 p.m. at the Rev. W. Roscoe Riley Parish Hall, 17 Silver Street
across from the John Curtis Free Library.

Tables are expected to include holiday decorations and homemade baked goods
from the ovens of members of the congregation. Visit the white elephant
table with many treasures to be found. Beautiful handcrafted wooden items
will be on display. Hardy plants grown in the gardens of parishioners will
be highlighted. The used jewelry table, appreciated especially be the young
people, will return again this year. A silent auction will run throughout
the day.

There will be a snack bar open during Fair hours for those who would like a
snack or lunch. Homemade sandwiches and soups are available. The Fair is a
great way to shop for the holidays and enjoy fellowship.

Any questions, call the Church Office 781-826-4762 or email
office@fcchanover.org .

Candy Drive for the Troops!

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

Hanover Girl Scout Troop 82282 is hosting their annual Halloween Candy
Drive again this year! The girls will package up all donated candy and
bring to Carepacks, Inc., an organization based out of Weymouth that sends
care packages to deployed troops throughout the world.

When: Collecting donations from 10/28-11/3

Where: Leave donations in orange bins outside Sing Explore Create, 33
Rockland Street, Hanover

What: Accepting donations of candy (get rid of those Halloween leftovers!).
Candy should be individually wrapped, but sending along a random assortment
of trick or treat candy is fine! For example, does not need to be an
unopened bag of fun size candy bars, but can be the few you may have
leftover. They will be bagging and packaging it all up.

Questions? Reach out to Nicole at ncraven8@gmail.com .

Thank you for your support of Troop 82282’s fall service project!

Non-profits sought for upcoming Holiday Stroll

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

The good folks of Hanover Crossing are working on final details of their
upcoming Holiday Stroll on Small Business Saturday – and they want to
start with inviting HANOVER charities and non-profit groups first.

They’d like to invite your organization to be their guest at a fun
family-friendly event they are hosting at Hanover Crossing on November
30th. The event will feature food, drinks, live music, kids’ activities and
more and they would love to have you participate to share information about
your organization with their guests. Hanover Crossing is passionate about
the Hanover community and know that you are a big part of it — this is
their way of going into the holiday season spotlighting special groups like
yours that make our community so special.

Hanover Crossing is inviting lots of nonprofits that support the Hanover
community and hope you’ll consider joining. Here are some details:
• Saturday, November 30th, 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
• Hanover Crossing, on the green
• The event will be heavily promoted, and guests will come to enjoy free
family-friendly activities, a stylish photo booth, games, and more.
• Nonprofits are invited to have a table on the Hanover Crossing Green to
showcase their organization, inform guests about Giving Tuesday, which is 3
days later, sell items, and to host something interactive for kids/families
to enjoy, etc.
They’d love to promote your participation in this effort as well so let
them know if you’d like to join them. Hanover Crossing representative Lisa
Berardinelli is happy to set up a meeting to discuss this idea with you
further if you’d like too! She can be reached at
lisa.berardinelli@preppg.com .

Help 3 Hanover girls fulfill wishes

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

This came in from Erin Schiller, mother of three girls in Hanover. Erin
can be reached at eschill2011@gmail.com . Love it!

Who: Sophie, Lexie, and Kasey Schiller
What: Father Bills and MainSpring Wish List (see attached)

Do you ever find brand new things, still wrapped up with the tags still on
them in your closets? Maybe it’s a shower curtain liner you will never
use because you have a shower door now; twin sheet sets for your
children’s beds only they don’t have twin beds anymore.
Maybe it’s a pair of shoes purchased on a whim that you have never worn
or a sweater from your mother-in-law that you could never bring yourself to
wear! It feels great to de-clutter your house of this stuff, but it feels
even more GREAT when you know that there are people in need that will truly
benefit from them.
Please consider donating your new/un-used items OR make a small donation to
help Sophie, Lexie, and Kasey fulfill this wish list for Father Bill’s
and MainSpring.

Where: Schiller household or John Curtis Library or Venmo
How: Three ways:
1. Drop off new/unused items in the bin at John Curtis Library in Hanover
2. Drop off new/unused items in the bin on porch at 97 Great Rock Road,
Hanover
3. Venmo donation to purchase items at @sophieschiller – placing Father
Bills in notation
When: Now until November 1st

Why: To provide help and hope to individuals and families facing a housing
crisis on the South Shore and across Southern Massachusetts.
