Snow Emergency in Hanover and school events cancelled

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

TOWN DECLARES SNOW EMERGENCY

Town Manager Troy Clarkson, in consultation with Fire Chief and
Emergency Management Director Jeffrey Blanchard, has declared a snow
emergency for all of Hanover starting at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, February
8, 2013.
In accordance with this declaration, residents are asked to be aware
of the following:
· Residents are advised to keep all parked cars and other automobiles
off all roads;
· Information will be provided continually through the town’s
Facebook and Twitter accounts, and will be regularly posted on the
town’s website;
· If a shelter is opened, the Hanover High School will be used;
· Residents are urged to check on neighbors who may need assistance
after the snow subsides;
· The possibility of downed power lines covered by snow is a real and
potential serious danger. Please pay particular attention to this
probable hazard and exercise extreme caution when outside during and
after the storm; and
· All school buildings will be closed on Saturday and Sunday. All
public activities planned at school locations are canceled and should
be rescheduled.
If you have an emergency during the storm, please dial 911.
To report a downed power line, please dial 911.
To report a power outage, please dial 1-800-322-3223.
Be safe! Your town officials will be working hard on your behalf
during this event. For more information, please contact Troy Clarkson
at troy.clarkson@hanover-ma.gov
.
Those of you with school children surely already know that there is no
school in Hanover on Friday. One more storm-related tid-bit: the
Hanover High School Music Department Swing Dance fundraiser for the
trip to Washington DC scheduled for Friday night has been postponed;
further information will follow. Persons still wishing to support the
Music Department students virtually are reminded of the on-line
coffee, cocoa and cookie dough fundraiser found at:
http://www.wecarecoffee.com/cgi-bin/ccp51/cp-app.cgi?&act=&aff=&pg=prod&ref=hanover_hs_music&cat=cust_100&catstr+HOME:cust_10
. Please go to the “Around Town on the Web” archives for further
information!

Coffee, cookies and cocoa for music trip to DC!

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

Long time readers of “Around Town on the Web” know that I am
unable to resist supporting Hanover’s emerging leaders, our
students. The Hanover High School Music Department is having its last
fundraiser for the trip to Washington, D.C. this year and your help is
needed. The Music Department is working with We CARE! Coffee Company
for this fundraiser. The company features gourmet coffees, chocolate
chip cookie mixes, hot cocoa, and a lot more! “Around Town on the
Web” is delighted to support this fundraiser (and my very own
singing sophomore) by passing along the following information:

Details:

The coffee is 100% Arabica, roasted and hand-packed specifically for
the customer’s order. It’s extremely fresh!
There are many coffee options to choose from such as: Medium Roast,
French Roast, and Decaf. You can also get the coffee as ground or
whole bean.
Chocolate Chip Cookie mix- just imagine those yummy cookies baked
fresh out of your oven! Delish!
The hot cocoa is made by Guittard, one of America’s finest chocolate
makers for over 100 years!

The web address to order for Hanover’s fundraiser is:
http://www.wecarecoffee.com/cgi-bin/ccp51/cp-app.cgi?&act=&aff=&pg=prod&ref=hanover_hs_music&cat=cust_100&catstr+HOME:cust_10

There, you can select which items you would like to purchase. Please
don’t forget to type in the name of the group and seller in the given
space when purchasing so the credit can be received: Hanover High
School Music Department, Karen Bernier.

If you do not wish to buy on-line, just go to
http://www.wecarecoffee.com/order_form/Hanover_High_School_Order_Taker.pdf
for a copy of the printable order form. Checks may be made payable to
“Hanover High School”. The last date for printing out the order form
and writing a check/paying with cash is this Friday, the 8th. *Please
drop off your order to our house at 143 Maplewood Drive.*

Also, all of these products are guaranteed, so if you’re not happy
with your purchase, the company promises to make it right!

If none of these items are of interest to you, you can still help the
students of the Hanover Music Department get to Washington, D.C.
Donations may be made by credit card at a denomination of your
choosing at
http://www.wecarecoffee.com/cgi-bin/ccp51/cp-app.cgi?&act=&aff=&pg=prod&ref=makeadonation&cat=donations_001&catstr=HOME:donations_001
, or give the students 100% of your donation by writing a check
payable to “Hanover High School” and dropping it off to 143
Maplewood Drive.

Thank you for all of your support! If you have questions or need more
information, please contact Karen Bernier at karenb59@comcast.net
