Winter soccer update

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

The good folks of HYAA soccer are running a new winter soccer program this
year that was mentioned in a previous ATOTW e-mail. The program will run
for 15 Mondays, starting Monday, November 16th, but excluding vacation
weeks. If you missed that first notice, or for more information, go to
http://www.hyaa.net/show_news.php?newid2 .

I am re-running this info because it is now open to 2nd graders! This is a
change from previously released information. The program is a great value
at less than $10 per session, and it is a great way for kids to stay in
shape over the winter and improve their skills, too. Parents will love the
fact that it will be the same day of the week and time of the week all
winter long – it makes it easy to plan and juggle the family schedule.

To sign up, go to www.hyaa.net today! The deadline for sign-ups is
Wednesday, October 14th. There are no late fees, but there are a limited
number of spots, so sign up as soon as possible so you do not get closed
out.

Hanover break-ins update

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

I am writing to share some further details regarding the day-time break-ins
that have plaguing Hanover the past couple of weeks. In more than one of
the break-ins, an unknown make and model silver sedan has been seen in the
area. Also, gold jewelry (possibly used for scrap re-sale) has been the
target most of the time.

Anyone with further information is encouraged to call Hanover Police
Detective Jonathan Abban at (781) 826-2335 x114 or Detective John Owens at
x115.

Parking at Myrtle Field

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

If you happen to live near Myrtle Field, or if you have children that play
HYAA soccer, you will know that it was a busy place last Saturday. This
just in from Marc Craig of the Parks and Recreation Department!

Hello!

It is my understanding that as of 10/3/09 a few HYAA youth soccer games will
be moving to B. Everett Hall Field, which hopefully will alleviate the
parking congestion that happened this past Saturday at Myrtle Field.

However, this weekend, it is imperative that the number of cars be reduced.
I understand that this can be very difficult, especially when your children
might play at different times throughout the day. A couple of suggestions
have come about through discussions with the Park and Recreation Committee
and myself.

* Parents/Grandparents please only take 1 vehicle per family.
* If you know of a neighbor or a friend who plays on your son or
daughter’s team, please carpool.
* Please do NOT park on the street, especially in front of resident’s
homes. This is a no parking area and the police have been made aware of the
on-street parking that happened last weekend.
* Saturday is supposed to be a beautiful fall day, if you live close
please drop your children off and drive home and walk to the fields.

Whatever you choose, I appreciate your efforts and thank you very much for
participating in the Hanover Youth Athletic Association Youth Soccer
Program. If you have ANY questions/concerns/comments please do not hesitate
to contact me (Marc Craig) at 781-826-7529 or by e-mail at
Recreation@hanover-ma.gov .
