Dear fellow Hanoverians:

Ballots for the Annual Town Election, scheduled for May 17th, 2025, are due
to be available for mailing to all Vote by Mail applicants by the last week
of April, 2025. The Vote by Mail application may be found here:

. Print out, fill out, sign and date your application and mail it to the
Town Clerk’s Office, 550 Hanover Street. Paper copies are also available
outside the Town Clerk’s Office if you would like to pick one up instead.

As of this writing on April 16th, only 95 Hanover residents have applied
for a ballot by mail. Given that the US Postal Service recommends that
residents allow 7 days for an application to get to the Town Clerk’s
Office, along with 7 days for your ballot to be mailed to you, and 7 more
days for you to return your ballot before the polls close on May 17th, now
is the time to apply for your ballot by mail!

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

School Vacation Week at John Curtis Library, 534 Hanover Street

Wednesday, April 23 will feature three ukulele programs presented by
musician and teacher Julie Stepanek. At 3:00 p.m. there will be a story
time with ukulele accompaniment, followed by a craft, for children ages
three to seven years.
A Learn to Play Ukulele class for ages 8 to 12 will take place from 4:30
p.m. to 5:30 p.m., followed by a class for adults and teens from 6:30 p.m.
to 7:30 p.m. Participants in both classes will learn how to hold, tune,
strum, fret, read chords and play songs. Ukuleles will be provided.
Julie has presented story times and classes at the library several times in
the past and is a wonderful performer and instructor.

One Up Games will be at the library Friday, April 25 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00
p.m. for Open Game Play with Virtual Reality, for kids aged 8 and older.
This event has been hugely popular the two previous times the library has
hosted it.

Space is limited for the ukulele classes and the games event. Please
register from the library’s website, johncurtislibrary.com. All of these
programs are funded by the Friends of the Library. Please email
lcampbell@ocln.hanover.org or call 781-826-2972, extension 4, for more
information.

Dear fellow Hanoverians:

Hanover Woman’s Club, Juniors will once again host its annual
Candidates’ Night on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. The event will
be held as a Zoom webinar. Candidates’ Night is an annual event hosted
by the club that features candidates running for office in Hanover. The
program, led by a moderator, consists of a short presentation by each
candidate running for office followed by a question-and-answer period. The
forum is open to the public for viewing on Zoom or the Hanover cable
channel, channel 36 for Verizon and 8 for Comcast. This gives those
attending a chance to hear the views of the candidates on issues affecting
the town. Hearing the candidates in this setting will give town residents
the opportunity to cast an educated vote during town elections on May 17.

There are a total of 10 anticipated open seats. On the ballot this spring
will be elections for one member of the Select Board for a three-year term,
one member of the School Committee for a three-year term, one member of the
Board of Assessors for a three- year term and one member for a one-year
term, one member of the Planning Board for a five-year term and one member
for a one-year term, one Board of Health member for a three-year term, one
Trustee of the Public Library for a three-year term, one Town Clerk for a
three-year term and one Moderator for a one-year term.

Question guidelines: They don’t accept questions for individual
candidates. If there are more than one of the same questions, they will be
combined. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, not all questions can be
asked.

The public may submit questions for the candidates to the Club’s email
address at hwcj1970@yahoo.com , or you can use the following Google form
